| The Middlesex North Registry of Deeds was created in 1855. Prior to that, all documents were recorded in Middlesex South. When the new registry opened, all previously recorded documents were recopied in a separate set of books that were organized by town as well as by book and page number. For example, a 1750 deed for a parcel of land that was part of Chelmsford in 1750 but that had become part of Lowell by 1855 would be found in the Lowell set of books. |
